Q1 What is the main purpose of environmental health assessment?
Environmental health is the study of how the environment affects human health.
Environmental health assessment draws upon information from environmental health research to support decision and policy making, keeping in consideration how different decisions may influence the relationship between environment and human health. The results of environmental health assessments are meant to influence public policy, decision makers in business, and members of society towards good outcomes.
Q2 What is shared uderstanding?
Shared understanding basically means having a common understanding among a group of people. Shared understanding can be in the form of written description (such as wiki page) where views from each member of the group is represented in writing. It is not necessary for everyone to reach a common agreement, as long as there is a common understanding of what opinions there are under a topic. The main purpose of this is to identify poor decision options that should be rejected.
Q17 What is the role of modelling in assessment and policy making?
Modelling is an element of co-creation skill, which helps to facilitate open-policy practice. Actual assessment models are developed based on generic methods and case-specific data. They can be developed using ovariables. User interface can be added to models on Opasnet by using R-tools. Health impact assssment module can be applied for peforming health impact assessments. Model runs can be permanently stored as PDFS files. Models allow incorporation of statements from discussions by making explicit links to particular ovariables.
