Scope

What is the fish oil (omega-3 fatty acids due to fish consumption) intake in the Beneris population?

Definition

Data

The variable is directly computed from other variables.

Dependencies

List of parents:

Unit

mg/kg bw/d

Formula

Fish oil intake is represented as a continuous variable. Exposure is calculated as a product of concentration data and fish consumption data. This is further divided by bodyweight to report exposure in relation to kg of bodyweight. The formula provides intake of omega-3 fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) + eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)) due to fish consumption.

----1: . The formula for Data 1 was removed because the input variables are in g/d, not in kg/a. The formulas for Data 2 and Data 3 were merged, because the former is simply a special case of the latter. --Jouni 17:03, 16 September 2009 (EEST) (type: truth; paradigms: science: comment)

The old descriptions can be found from a previous version.

(DHA_Concentration_species(i)+EPA_Concentration_species(i))*Daily_consumption_species(i)/BW

Result

Note! The current version only estimates DHA (not EPA) intake for pregnant women (not other groups) in Finland. Intakes from sea and freshwater species are estimated separately.
