Problems of open assessment

Scope

What are such problems of open assessment that prevent it from gaining market share among assessments?

Definition

The result is based on general comments received.

Result

  • Anyone who gains benefit from not releasing information to others, is worse off when assessments are open.
  • Some people dislike the idea of explicit disputes as a method to find resolutions. Instead, they might want consensus-driven approaches, where everyone is expected to hide minor disputes in favour of greater common agreement.
