Question

What possibilities are there to develop electric power supply and demand in such a way that

• the supply always covers the demand,
• the overall system is cost-effective, and
• the overall system has as low carbon dioxide emissions as possible?

Intended use and users

These organisations are hoped to use the information produced:

• Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö, Finland
• The Ministry of Environment (Ympäristöministeriö), Finland

The work aims to help these strategic planning processes:

• Energia- ja ilmastostrategia (to be finalised by Dec 2016)
• Keskipitkän aikavälin ilmastopoliittinen suunnitelma (to be finalised by May 2017)

Timing

The assessment will hopefully be performed during spring 2016. There are no funding or resources yet.
