City of Helsinki has the following strategic objectives regarding the adaptation to climate change: 1. xx At the moment the adaptation is not coordinated in the city organization.

Adaptation is an umbrella term for all kind of activities that match the following constraints: A. Adaptation

• improves the state of the object

OR

• diminishes the deterioration of the state of the object.

AND B. The state of the object is changed by changing climate or its consequences.

A lot of adaptation is done because it reduces the risk or increases the possibility to benefit from the consequences of climate change.
