Trophic levels: ecological levels of nutrition. In the Baltic Sea white-tailed eagle feeds on salmon, which feeds on herring, which feeds on small crustaceans and animal plankton, which feeds on phytoplankton. Chemicals may be transferred and bioconcentrated along such trophic levels. [1]
