Name: The mortality due to PM 2.5 from buses
Scope: Mortality effects due to PM 2.5 from buses in Helsinki Metropolitan Area
Definition:
- Data:
- mortality due to cardiopulmonary, lung cancer and other causes,
- exposure to road traffic PM 2.5,
- the fraction of bus exposure of total road traffic exposure
- Causality:
- effect of bus type on PM 2.5 emissions and exposure,
- relationship between the exposure of PM 2.5 and mortality effects
- Unit: estimated deaths per year associated with primary PM 2.5
- Formula: deltaM = M(eexp(bdeltaE)-1)
- b = dose-response coefficient
- deltaE = change in exposure
- M = background mortality
Results: The mortality due to primary fine particles from buses ranged from 3 to 18 casese per year in the different bus strategies.
