<section begin=glossary />
- Process is a change of substance in time (according to the PSSP ontology). It is one of the fundamental objects of PSSP. In the open assessment context, the information manipulation processes related to the doing of an assessment are described as processes; they are called methods. In contrast, the processes that occur in the nature are described as variables.

There was a template for process description for guidebook, i.e. a method. However, it became outdated and was removed. It can be found here. For a more up-to-date description about a process structure, see Method. Methods have the same structure as processes in general, but the purpose of methods is restricted to information management processes within open assessment.
