VATT (Valtion taloudellinen tutkimuskeskus, Finland) has published a report on ecoefficiency of housing and traffic in Finland in 2030. The main conclusion is that although ecoefficiency per unit service improves, ecoefficiency per person decreases because the consumption of services increases with economic growth. This is due to megatrends such as increase of households as households get smaller. Several scenarios were studied where the consumption was directed towards more efficient way of consuming (such as common laundry, public transportation etc).
