Short description

Harmonized European time use surveys (HETUS) includes time activity data as pre prepared tables for mean time spent on Main and Secondary activities and Participation rates for Main activities during an average day, by Sex and Country and addition to that, user can create tables for his own interest. There are also links to the time-use statistics of countries included.

Long description

In HETUS the main activities studied are: Personal care, employment, study, household and family care, volunteer work and participation activities, social life and entertainment, sports and outdoor activities, hobbies and games, and mass media. These main activities are further divided into secondary activities. The time spent in traffic is divided according to travel purpose to 20 subcategories. Information on different microenvironments includes such as home, second home or weekend house, working place or school, other peoples home, restaurant, cafe or pub. Traffic is further divided to traveling on foot; bicycle; moped, motorcycle or motorboat; by passenger car; by lorry, van or tractor; traveling by taxi; by bus or coach; by tram or underground; by train; by airplane; by boat or ship.
